About ME

I am a born and raised Michigander. During my K-12 education I have had the unique experience of attending both urban and suburban schools. This ultimately has contributed to my ability to quickly adapt to change and work with people of various cultures and backgrounds.

I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics in 2018. In spring of 2020 I completed my student teaching at Ferndale High School, earning my certification to teach mathematics for grades 6-12. My experience there was very exciting and fulfilling because of the close-knit community and the diversity among faculty, staff, and students.

I enrolled in my first semester of the Master of Arts in Education Online Program during the summer of 2020 and I am currently working to complete this degree within the next 2 years. After some years of refining my mathematics teaching at the secondary level, I will further pursue mathematics teaching at the university level. Through the this online program I will be able to not only extend my knowledge in teaching mathematics at the Secondary level but also broaden my knowledge of instruction strategies and classroom management, that I can practice while I teach mathematics at secondary level and eventually college level.

I currently teach high school geometry in Southfield, MI. My philosophy on mathematics teaching is that, with a positive mindset, any student is capable of learning and doing mathematics. You can read more about it here. Remote learning has been quite an adjustment; however, I enjoy interactions with my students and seeing what each day brings.

Outside of teaching and education I enjoy singing and catching up on my favorite shows on Netflix. I am also in the process of learning to play the piano (self-taught).
